The Bread of Life in the Manger

She laid him in a manger?

Two time Luke wrote that they laid him in a manger.
Twice
She laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
No room – no bed – no place for the Savior of the World

Except in a feed trough
Where lowly servant animals fed

He became the bread of life for all who would come low and receive him.

She laid him as a sacrifice.

Come shepherds, come wise men, come lost and dying world and feast on the bread of life

Come and receive him in his lowly state
He who left his throne of heaven to become the sustenance of all mankind

Come let us adore him

Luke said it twice
Once for the birth of the Christ Child.
Once for the coming King.

  3. Sometime I wonder if we treat Jesus the way the full city did. Leave him on the outskirts of town in a manager. We fill up our lives with things, running here and there, that we forget to make room for Him. What a great reflection. Thanks for sharing.
